Bay Shore Services, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 State of Maryland corporation which began operation on January 23, 1992. Our goal is to encourage full-citizenship and personal growth for all people, especially those with disabilities who live in the nine county area that comprises the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Our agency tries to maintain people in their home by providing flexible community-based services that support family-based care and meet the personal needs of children and adults with disabilities. We work cooperatively with other Eastern Shore agencies, both governmental and private, to develop a comprehensive continuum of services designed to encourage independent living; further public awareness of disabilities; strengthen family units; and encourage community integration. Our services include, but are not limited to, family and individual supports, behavior management, dental care, personal care, respite, social supports, leisure activities, early childhood interventions, and crisis preventions. We deliver services throughout the Eastern Shore from our offices in Salisbury and Easton. Our over ninety member staff is composed of caring people who work hard to achieve our mission. The staff have special skills and training that include nursing, business administration, accounting, program management, vocational rehabilitation, human resources, parent education, community advocacy, occupation therapist, personal care, mentoring, and behavior management. The agency is licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The Maryland Department of Transportation certified Bay Shore Services, Inc. as a Minority Enterprise Business and our charitable status is properly registered with the Maryland Secretary of State Office. Bay Shore Services, Inc. issues no capital stock and is not a political, sectarian, and governmental-affiliated agency.
Bay Shore Services, Inc. solicits
and receives program funding from insurance reimbursements, medical
assistance payments, several county grants, and several State of
Maryland departments. |
