Department is your one stop source for qualified and dependable
candidates for employment at no cost to you. You have a lot to

Employment counselors meet with the
employee on an individual basis. Career choices are made by the
employee. Employment staff assist by educating individuals about
the choices they make. The employment staff is prescreened,
qualified and trained to meet each individual's need.
SERVICES FOR EMPLOYERS
Prescreening of Qualified Candidates
All of our candidates go through an extensive prescreening program to
properly evaluate them for the correct position. The program
includes training, work trials, and employment counseling. An
employer's request generates a candidate search to locate the ideal
person to fill the job opening.
Job
Coaching
We provide professional coaching to all candidates including skills
training, skill building, skill retention, ongoing case management, and
post employee services. If necessary, we can provide on the job
training and orientation to the work place.
Analysis of
Work Site
We can assess and recommend job accommodations to meet the specific
needs of the individual with disabilities.
Employer
Education
We offer free training for management staff on hiring and retaining
people with disabilities and how to work with them.
Trial
Employment
We offer employers a pre-employment grace period to evaluate the
individual's job skills and capabilities to make sure the person and job
are a good match.
Transportation
Transportation is a critical concern to the employer and we make
every attempt to resolve the transportation problem to the satisfaction
of the employer and the employee.
Post
Employment Services
Our goal is to assure job retention is attained to the satisfaction
of both the employer and the employee.
Training on
the Job
Our staff assists employers with on-the-job training to ensure a
positive outcome for both employers and the employees with a disability.
Tax
Credits/Deductions
Employers who employ people with disabilities are entitled to state
of Maryland and federal tax credits. We help employers with the
necessary paperwork to obtain these tax credits.
